January W.O.W. Award Winner: Jennifer Green!

Jennifer Green – Top Teen

Jennifer Green is our January award winner.  Jennifer has been a competitive gymnast at Park Avenue for the past 9 years and is currently competing Level 9.  Jennifer is an amazing young lady who works hard in gym, school, and for those less fortunate.

It is because of these qualities that Jennifer is this month’s W.O.W. award recipient.  This school year Jennifer was recognized as one of 5 of Broward’s Top Teens.  This is an award presented by the Broward County Fair that Jennifer was nominated for by one of her teachers in school.  The award recognizes teens that make Broward County a better place to live.  Jennifer’s teach wrote in her nomination essay, “She exemplifies what every parent wants in a child, every teacher wants in a student, and every community wants in a citizen.”  Jennifer has participated in Relay for Life, started a program called “Clothesline” which collects clothes for the needy, and volunteers at a summer camp at the David Posnack JCC called Giborim.  This camp includes children and young adults with autism, learning disabilities, and emotional and physical handicaps.  She has accumulated over 300 hours of community service in the past 2 years. 

Along with all of her volunteer work, Jennifer has been a member of her swim and dive team for the past 3 years, the Math Honor Society, the Psychology Club, SOAP club and the Spanish Honor Society.  All of this while still being a dedicated, hardworking, and successful gymnast.  

The coaches and staff at Park Avenue would like to congratulate Jennifer on her Top Teen success and thank her for all of her amazing contributions to society.  Jennifer truly is a W.O.W.
